Although their name would invoke yuletide tidings and blissful chanting, USX creates music which is anything but. Spanning the dark, decrepit and painful side of disharmonic psychedelia, this North Carolina outfit has successfully distilled the essence of cacophony through countless layers of sound and crushing waves of volume that are an orchestrated assault on the senses. None other than Neurosis' Scott Kelly took notice of USX through his Combat Music Radio show, playing their material regularly on the show which ultimately led to a release on their esteemed Neurot Recordings imprint.

Unfortunately, I had to bump back the release for "Confederacy of Ruined Lives."

This is due to an error the pressers made on the jackets. They were initially ordered with a matte laminate finish, which is pretty much one of the best finishes you can get, and its what I've been using so far on all my releases. However, the pressers made an error and ordered them with a matte varnish finish, and regrettably, this was discovered too late in the printing process.

However, the good news is the pressers are working hard to get me the corrected jackets as FAST as possible, and there is a very good chance I will be getting them well before the updated release date of 11/3. They could possibly ship from Prague as early as this week. And once I receive the corrected jackets, we will do our best to get these out as fast as possible.

In an age of low-quality mp3s reducing music to electronic files downloaded over the Internet, there's been an absolute disconnect from the artistic aspect of music. I'm Better Than Everyone Records was created with the goal to resurrect the experience of listening to music as it was intended. We believe that music should be an organic experience, where one is welcomed to participate in the artist's vision at creating their art both sonically and visually.

We won't be releasing any CDs, focusing instead on vinyl, which in our opinion is the only way to enjoy the true sound of the bands we choose to work with. Our goal is to rekindle the beauty of the almighty riff in its intended format: needle against groove, analog trumping digital. Each release will be limited but no corners shall be cut. There will be a heavy focus on artwork with this label as well.
