In an age of low-quality mp3s reducing music to electronic files downloaded over the Internet, there's been an absolute disconnect from the artistic aspect of music. I'm Better Than Everyone Records was created with the goal to resurrect the experience of listening to music as it was intended. We believe that music should be an organic experience, where one is welcomed to participate in the artist's vision at creating their art both sonically and visually.

We won't be releasing any CDs, focusing instead on vinyl, which in our opinion is the only way to enjoy the true sound of the bands we choose to work with. Our goal is to rekindle the beauty of the almighty riff in its intended format: needle against groove, analog trumping digital. Each release will be limited but no corners shall be cut. There will be a heavy focus on artwork with this label as well. I'm Better Than Everyone Records intends to give each release the opportunity to cater to those who appreciate rock the way it was meant to be heard.

HAIL!HORNET

HAIL!HORNET, featuring members of Alabama Thunderpussy, Weedeater, Beaten Back to Pure and Sourvein, debut CD was released on Dwell in 2007. Although HAIL!HORNET could be erroneously considered a "super group", none of the members are resting on the laurels of their respective bands. Collectively they've created a sound which personifies abrasiveness and glorifies doom,a style they've aptly christened as "grime metal". Few can argue upon listening to the angst-ridden sludge of HAIL!HORNET that their particular style has all the subtlety of an exploding hand grenade.

This vinyl pressing of their debut is strictly limited to 500 hand-numbered gatefold copies with artwork by renowned underground artist Tom Denney, known for his work with Kylesa, Sourvein and Soilent Green, among others.

Deadbird - The Head and the Heart

DEADBIRD have successfully fused the melancholic drone of Neurosis with the almighty riff worship perfected by High On Fire to create a new breed of metal not unlike their fellow Arkansas brothers in Rwake: a dark, brooding heaviness few bands can even attempt to harness. Their debut "The Head and The Heart" (originally released on CD in '05) generated immediate interest worldwide and heralded DEADBIRD as a band to watch. I'm Better Than Everyone Records has chosen "The Head and The Heart" as my debut vinyl release, with 500 hand-numbered copies on thick vinyl, and a deluxe gatefold jacket to immortalize DEADBIRD in the best manner possible.
